Chevrolet Looks to Tim Sattler of Banks Chevrolet for Inventory Answers

 Chevrolet’s corporate analysts sought out Tim Sattler, Inventory Ordering Manager at Banks Chevrolet in Concord, NH, for advice on improving ordering operations. He was one of a select few across the country that were asked to assist in this Chevrolet management project. During an in-depth series of interviews, Sattler discussed the successful operations and customer satisfaction strategies used at Banks.

“It doesn't feel like rocket science to us,” said Sattler. “It's just a matter of taking the time to do a good job on each and every vehicle ordered.”

Sattler provided insight into ordering and how different configurations and options resonate with customers online and in the showroom. Chevrolet’s objective was to understand what factors drive decision making for vehicle ordering. This includes coming to the right mix of models and trim levels, how each one is specifically equipped, and what options and colors make the most sense. Sattler explained the effects of having too many or too few buyer options and how that can impact sales.

A few key factors have led to the success in ordering and stocking at Banks. First, Tracy Banks, owner of Banks Chevrolet, has always understood the concept that a dealer cannot sell from an empty shelf, so she makes enough financial resources available so that Banks can stock a large inventory of vehicles. Secondly, the management team has years of experience and while it’s sometimes a moving target in a volatile marketplace, they have a good understanding of what's going on in the market, what the competition is doing, and what trends will be important to customers. Additionally, Banks has dedicated a single person with the primary role of ordering all inventories, which allows focus and eliminates distractions. Most importantly, Banks listens to what their customers are looking for, and will make the appropriate adjustments to better meet customer expectations.

“Using these methods as well as our internal data and the tools General Motors provides, we strive to have the right vehicle in stock for every customer,” said Sattler. “When we don't, we have good relationships with many other dealers so that we can bring one in. When we do this, we consider whether this located configuration is something we should stock ourselves, and modify our ordering as appropriate.”

Chevrolet will put this information to use as they continue to work to improve vehicle configurations to best meet the wants and needs of the customer without offering too many choices. GM and Chevrolet are sincerely focused on constantly improving their operations by minimizing customer confusion when selecting a vehicle, increasing satisfaction with the purchasing process, and thus increasing sales.

Banks Chevrolet is Named Dealer of The Year by GMC and Chevrolet

Banks Chevrolet-Cadillac-Buick-GMC in Concord, NH has been named Dealer of the Year by both GMC and Chevrolet.  This is a unique distinction and Banks is the only dealer in the nation to receive both awards.

Each year General Motors honors the “best-of-the-best” Chevrolet, Buick, GMC and Cadillac dealers across the country. This award is an honor reserved for the top 2% of Chevrolet, Cadillac, Buick, and GMC Dealers by region.  However, of the few dealers honored this year, Banks Chevrolet-Cadillac-Buick-GMC is the only dealership in the country to have been honored with Dealer of the Year by both Chevrolet and GMC. Banks was rewarded with plaques to display in the showroom and an invitation to the Global Headquarters in Detroit, Michigan for recognition.
 The Dealer of the Year award is given to the dealerships who excel in customer satisfaction, overall sales and service volume, and a dealership’s respective impact on its district and zone resulting from its performance in these areas.  Banks is New England’s highest volume GM dealer and consistently out performs its competitors in customer satisfaction in both sales and service.

Thank You to All of the Blood Drive Participants!

Thank you to everyone who came out to our first blood drive for theAmerican Red Cross! We were amazed by the overwhelming amount of support from our employees, customers, and friends in the Concord community. The event was a great success with over 60 participants who donated their blood to help save lives.

Banks Chevrolet to Host Blood Drive for the American Red Cross

Banks Chevrolet will be hosting an American Red Cross Blood Drive on April 24, 2014 from 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Donations make it possible for the Red Cross to provide blood for patients in nearly 3,000 hospitals across the United States. Help save lives by donating your blood to the American Red Cross at the dealership, located at 137 Manchester St., Concord, NH 03301.

This is the first time Banks Chevrolet has ever hosted a Blood Drive but they are expecting a great turnout from the community. Banks Chevrolet will be offering a free "wash and vacuum " service to anyone who donates blood on that day, as well as a $10 service coupon. Furthermore, Subway will be offering a free 6" sub to anyone who donates blood on that day.

Banks Chevrolet service manager Rick Gauthier has been spearheading the event planning. Always charitable and active in his community, Gauthier became inspired when he heard the story of Jacqueline Rogers back in January. "I was watching the news one morning and I saw a story about an 8 year old girl from Boston," says Gauthier. "She was scheduled to go in for life saving heart surgery, and the parents got a phone call on the way to the surgery and were turned around because the hospital was low on blood. That made me want to go donate some blood." Gauthier continues, "At that point I figure we have over a hundred employees and thousands of great customers, so we could make a big impact." Should I Wait for President's Day to Buy My New Chevy?

Every year, President’s Day Deals give buyers a great reason to go out and find the car they have been looking for. President’s Day weekend (and week… and month) usually features great rebates, great interest rates and significant dealer discounts in order to win customers and start the selling season off right. It’s a very exciting time and motivates many customers (and dealers) to make deals happen! But should you wait for the President’s Day hype to buy your new Chevy? Here are three reasons not to wait:

For instance, the 2014 GMC Sierra half ton now offers $4500 in rebates for certain packages plus additional rebates for recent college graduates and USAA members. 3) Inventory is limited. Many dealers are completely out of 2013 vehicles. While Banks Chevy NH has some 2013’s left, there are very few and they are disappearing fast. By February, most of these vehicles will be gone and customers will be unable to take advantage of the already substantial incentives available on leftover 2013 models. Furthermore, some of our 2014 inventory is in short supply because of new models set to come on the market soon. The Chevy Silverado HD will be completely redesigned later in 2014 and NH Chevy Dealers are unable to order any additional 2014 inventory until the new 2015 body style comes out. The same goes for the GMC Sierra HD – the 2015 GMC Sierra HD will be completely redesigned. Therefore, if you’re waiting for President’s Day to make your move on one of these trucks, you might want to reconsider as inventory will be far more limited.
